The Melcher-Dallas Football Squad is coming off a dominating win over rival Twin Cedars last week. One thing that Coach Pat Ferguson and the rest of the coaching staff want to clean up moving forward is penalties. Penalties are not a good thing anytime, but Ferguson tells KNIA Sports last week they were flagged three times on scoring plays, something he wants to get away from this week and moving forward.

Ferguson: “If you have those penalties that cost you touchdowns, because you never know what’s going to happen on the offensive drives, we have to take advantage of those times the defense scores and not commit those silly penalties.”

The Saints host Winfield-Mount Union for homecoming this week. Melcher-Dallas was supposed to play Woodward Academy…but the Knights chose not to play due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the team. Kick-off Friday is scheduled for seven.
