Central College’s music program will showcase nine concerts this month. Performances will begin with a Homecoming concert featuring ALMA at 8:00 this evening on Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium.
The college will wrap up Homecoming concerts Sunday, with performances by the Flying Pans Alumni Steel Band at 1 p.m. and Symphonic Wind Ensemble at 2:15 p.m. on the Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium.
Festival Choir, A Cappella Choir and Chamber Singers will perform at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, on Hoesktra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium. The performance will conclude 8th and 9th Grade Singfest, an all-day workshop hosted by Central’s music department.
Festival Honor Band and Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, on Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium. The performance will conclude 7th and 8th Grade Bandfest, an all-day workshop hosted by Central’s music department.
Professor Gabriel Espinosa will direct an ALMA concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in Cox-Snow Music Center. Tickets are $5 and free for Central students.
Artist and Midwest singer-songwriter Chad Elliott will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, in Mills Gallery. His exhibit “Wilderman’s” also will be featured in the Mills Gallery.
Performances will conclude for the month with the Flying Pans Fall Show “PAN RAMACAJ” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, on Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and children and free for Central students.
Masks are strongly encouraged and will be provided at the door for each concert. All performances are free unless otherwise noted.
