The Indianola City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance that will allow golf carts on city streets once adopted into city code. Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News snowmobiles and ATV/UTV’s require registration with the state, however golf carts will be different for the time being.

“Golf carts do not have that same requirement; golf carts are not required to be registered. Now the city would have the ability to do individual registration on that, some cities for example do bike registrations, the City of Indianola does not do that. As we talked about that with our planning commission, we decided not to do registration on golf carts at this point in time.”
