The Class 1A 6th ranked Pella Christian football team came into Friday night’s game hungry to avenge last week’s loss and the Eagles did just that as they ran away from Pleasantville on the Trojans homecoming 55-15, as heard live on 92.1 KRLS.

It was all Eagles in the first half as Isaac Kacmarynski threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers and ran for another two touchdowns to give the Eagles a 41-0 lead at the halftime break. Kacmarynski would pick up right where he left off in the second half, adding a third rushing and seventh total touchdown of the night in the third quarter. Pleasantville backup quarterback Ryder Thill’s lone completion put the Trojans in position for Dillon Ammons to punch in the Trojans first touchdown of the night midway through the fourth quarter. Pella Christian’s Beau Bush and Cooper Spronk connected with 3:35 left in the game for the Eagles last score of the night. Pleasantville’s Ryan Clement would find the endzone with three seconds left to cap off the Trojans homecoming loss. While the Pella Christian offense was on full display, Eagles’ Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski believed his defense was the difference in the game.

“I actually felt like our defense keyed us tonight, believe it or not. Our defense did a lot of three and outs, gained us field position, so I thought our defense just played really well and keyed us. I thought our defensive line was able to control the line of scrimmage, and they weren’t really able to rush the football on us.”

Trojans Head Coach Mack Jorth said that he appreciated his team’s fight despite the results on the scoreboard.

“Number one thing I said to our players there at the end of the game was multiple refs came off the field just complimenting our players about what great men they were, just fun to work with and that they did a nice job out there. That was the number one thing I wanted them to know is you guys are an outstanding group of kids and that’s what you see in the fourth quarter. They’re not giving up, they’re not hanging their heads, they are fighting until the end and just getting the most out of the game whether they are in or out,  or whether it’s the starters or backups. So, I’m super proud of the men we have.”

The Eagles head to Eldon this Friday to take on Cardinal, while the Trojans travel to take on Van Buren.
