Pleasantville’s and PCM’s volleyball squads will be back in action today for a weekend tournament at Pleasantville High School.

The Trojans’ volleyball squad will be looking to break their five-match losing streak and get back in the win column. Pleasantville has lost to PCM, Sigourney, Ogden, Grand View Christian, and Van Meter over their last five matches. Pleasantville is coming into the tournament with a 9-9 record with a 2-4 record in West Central Conference play. This will be the first time in the modern era that Pleasantville has hosted a volleyball tournament.

The Mustangs’ volleyball squad are coming off breaking a two-game losing streak by knocking off Heart of Iowa Conference foe Perry three sets to one Tuesday. This tournament will be the final tournament PCM will be competing in this season. PCM will be going into the matchup with a 9-17 overall record with a 2-3 Heart of Iowa Conference record.

Pleasantville and PCM will be competing with Saydel, Colfax-Mingo, Southeast Warren, and Martensdale-St. Mary’s. Pleasantville’s first match of the tournament will be against Martensdale-St. Mary’s at 8:30 AM. PCM’s first match will be against Colfax-Mingo at 9:15.
