Knoxville Fire/EMS will hold an open house and chili feed today as part of National Fire Prevention Week. Chief Cal Wyman says this is one of the main fundraisers for the department, and they’ll have equipment on display.
“It’s a free-will donation meal, the money goes to the Knoxville Firefighters Association. That money gets used to help buy stuff that’s not in the city budget. We’ll have equipment on display, you’ll be able to talk to the firefighters and ask them questions. It’ll be a night to get together and review fire safety stuff.”
The chili feed and open house runs from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Knoxville Fire Department office.
