The students and staff of Pella Middle School were recognized for demonstrating outstanding character from a state organization. They were listed as a 2021 honorable mention from the annual Iowa Character Awards in 2021 from the Ray Center at Drake University. The 7th and 8th grade students and staff in the Pella Community School District were runners-up in the “School of Character” category after submitting several nominations for the entire building, staff, and students, according to Lyndon Norton with the Pella Middle School Student Council.
