Looking to build off the first win of the season, the Knoxville Football Squad takes to the road for the longest trip of the season to southwestern Iowa to play Atlantic. The Panthers gained confidence last week in a 24-14 win over Saydel and hope to replicate the effort and play from last week to this week’s road game. Coach Eric Kellar, while not into comparing opponents, does liken the Trojans to the Panthers’ week four opponent Fairfield in the style, size, and type of offense.
Kellar: “Without losing half our guys against Fairfield we could have won that one too, but just looking at schemes, and how they play it looks similar to Fairfield, which should make it a good game.”
Health has been a battle this season for the Panthers as several players are on the injured list for various reasons. Kellar says a couple of starters were held out of practice early in the week, but they should be able to play tonight. You can hear the action on 95.3 KNIA starting with the pregame at 6:30 and another early kick off at 7:00. Fans are reminded that the field is at the Atlantic Middle School and not the high school.
