Voters in Pella had the chance to hear from Pella City Council candidates during a forum focused on key issues relating to this election.
The Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance and 92.1 KRLS once again partnered for a forum for the three contested Pella City Council races. All eight candidates who filed official candidacy documents were invited to answer questions about why they are running in this year’s election, although Tony Bokhoven, Lynn Branderhorst, and Bruce Schiebout had previous commitments.
Those at the event discussed the key issues in the upcoming election on 92.1 KRLS from the Pella Opera House. Central College Political Science Professor Andrew Green and Dr. Bob Leonard co-hosted the nearly two hour session focusing on issues relating to business development in the Tulip City.

Following the forum, one-on-one Let’s Talk Pella segments with all eight of the candidates will air in the coming weeks, with profiles of each posted online on the same day.
On Monday, October 18th, the Pella Community School District and KRLS Radio are partnering for a forum with the five school board candidates running for three open seats. The forum will be moderated by Andrew Schneider and hosted by Dr. Bob Leonard from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Pella High School, airing on 92.1 KRLS and the Pella Dutch Live YouTube channel.
