In a battle for the second spot in Class 1A District 6, Pella Christian used a balanced attack to blowout Cardinal 52-18.
For the second week in a row, the Pella Christian offense posted over 500 total yards, and Isaac Kacmarynski scored seven touchdowns. The highlight of the night was a 65 yard touchdown run from Kacmarynski as time expired in the first half to take the wind out of the Comets’ sails. Eagles Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski believes the importance of Friday’s game helped fuel his team to the victory.
“We knew this was a big game. Obviously losing to Sigourney (Keota) two weeks ago put us in the second place chair temporarily. So, we knew this would be a tough game and have potential playoff ramifications.
Pella Christian improved to 3-1 in district play and 6-1 on the season with the win. The Eagles return home for Senior Night next week in the final week of the regular season against Central Decatur.
