Drought conditions remained largely the same in the latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report. Most of Marion and Warren Counties along and north of Highway 92 are in moderate drought, with severe conditions in northeast Marion County along the South Skunk River basin. While 1 ½” to 2 ½” of rain fell over the region this week, most of that was not included before Tuesday’s cutoff on the report. Dry conditions will persist well into next week, according to the National Weather Service.
