The Twin Cedars Volleyball Squad fell in the Bluegrass Conference semifinals to class 1A #6 Ankeny Christian on Thursday night falling 2-0 25-12 and 25-6. The Sabers were held down most of the match and were unable to get much going. Sophie Lyle had three kills while Rylee Dunkin had five assists and six digs. Twin Cedars will now prepare for the opening round of the class 1A regional next week against Montezuma. Meanwhile the cross country squad ran in Mediapolis in the final tune up before next week’s state qualifier. With Rylee Dunkin playing volleyball on the other side of the state in Diagonal, that opened the door for Cheyenne Bruns and she took advantage by placing 2nd in a time of 23:05 while Jayden Weldon came in 30th at 32:04. Boys runner Andrew Freel was 31st in a time of 23:09. The Sabers run in the state qualifier hosted by Pekin on Thursday.
