PCM’s volleyball squad will open postseason play Monday as they take a trip to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
The Mustangs come into the playoffs with a 12-21 record and a 3-4 record in West Central Conference play. PCM ended their season on a high note with a thrilling victory over South Hamilton Thursday, three sets to two. This is the fourth time in five years that PCM will go against the Rockets. The two teams met in the first round of the playoffs last season and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont came out on top three sets to one. The Mustangs will be looking for their first victory over the Rockets in the Varsity Bound era. Coach Mike Vittetoe says that his team understands the daunting task of taking on a powerhouse like Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
“It’s gonna be exactly what we talked about. We need to stay on offense because they’ve got some hitters, a couple really good hitters. They have a couple really talented freshmen, I can’t imagine that there are too many more talented freshmen in the whole state than the Shafer Sisters.”
The match at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont will begin at 7:00 PM.
