After a thrilling victory over Cardinal of Eldon Friday night, Pleasantville’s football squad will travel north to take on No. 1 in Class 1A Van Meter in the first round of the playoffs.
Pleasantville finished the season with a 4-4 record and a 2-3 record in West Central Conference play. The Trojans made the playoffs despite having a three-game losing streak to No. 5 Sigourney-Keota, No. 7 Pella Christian, and Central Decatur. Pleasantville was able to bounce back with a dominating victory over Van Buren in Week 7 and then edge out the Cardinal Comets 29-28 to end the regular season.
