To commemorate the completion of Knoxville’s new mural, city staff will host a celebration on Thursday, October 21st. City Manager Heather Ussery encourages residents to come out to enjoy what downtown has to offer while hearing from the artist himself.

“The mural artist, Ben Schuh, will be here. People can thank him and talk to him about his design and how he came up with the mural. There will also be state representatives here from the Iowa Economic Development Authority; they hosted the contest. We’ll have live music, food, downtown businesses will be open late.”

Knoxville won the mural by receiving the most votes in an online contest during the summer. The celebration will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 21st on the downtown square and surrounding area.
