Pella Community Ambulance recently received a new enclosed trailer to assist on a variety of calls.

Chief Greg Higginbotham says thanks to a grant from the Pella Community Foundation, Pella Community Ambulance was able to purchase and equip an enclosed 20 foot trailer to haul the service’s utility task vehicle, used for patient rescue and recovery in difficult terrain circumstances. Higginbotham says it will also serve as a rehab unit for our Fire Department in fire or hazmat situations to preserve the ambulance as a safe and uncontaminated environment for patient transport as needed.

Higginbotham says national issues with production and supplies due to COVID-19 delayed the purchase, but he’s excited to have the trailer in service now.
