During a Policy and Planning session this week, the Pella City Council will discuss the use of the Second Christian Reformed Church property. The city acquired a portion of the land in 2019, and is scheduled to close on the rest by November 1st.

Prior to that date, staff would like to discuss the use of the church property after the city takes possession. Specifically, immediately after taking possession of the property, staff is planning on sealing off the public’s access to the former Second Christian Reformed Church and the housing structure located at 606 Union Street. In addition, they are also planning on making the entire parking lot at this location available for public use.

There will also likely be additional work sessions in the future to discuss potential plans for the Second Christian Reformed Church property.
