The Knoxville School Board has approved an increase in substitute employee pay rates. Business Manager Craig Mobley says this was a necessary step during a time where substitute employees are commonly needed.

“We were able to present and recommend the board pay rates for teachers, associates, food service employees, custodians and bus drivers to increase the rates. It’s something we need to do to be able to keep pace with the market. Hopefully it helps to get those substitutes in place in the time of need that we have.”
