The Norwalk volleyball team made quick work of Carlisle Tuesday evening, sweeping the Wildcats in the first round of Class 4A Region 4. Norwalk got off to a strong start in set 1, but Carlisle responded to get to within 17-14 in the set before the Warriors went on to win 25-15. The Wildcats led for a good portion of set 2, but Norwalk was able to take momentum back for a 25-17 win. Set 3 was never in doubt as the Warriors won 25-13. Head Coach Jenna Karpuk says her team regained focus in set 3 to slam the door on the match.
“In the last half of the season, we’ve been playing opponents at our level, above our level and below our level. We’ve been talking a lot about staying and playing our game. We didn’t do a scouting report or anything for Carlisle. We just needed to worry about ourselves and show what we do.”
The win moves Norwalk to 21-17 on the season. They’ll travel to Winterset Thursday for the regional semifinal.
