The Indianola Public Library presented the annual library report to the Indianola City Council earlier this week. Director Michele Patrick tells KNIA News for the fifth straight year, library usage is up.

“It’s up 12% in just five years. So year after year, the library is busy and becoming busier all the time even with everything that’s happened with COVID-19. The library currently has 10,000 active users, and of those the most common and biggest users of the library are the young families, those in their 20’s and 30’s.”

Patrick also said she thanks the public for taking part in a recent survey, which allows them to better recognize the needs and wants from the community regarding the library programs and activities.
