Rain is likely to develop over northern Missouri and spread northward overnight Saturday night into Sunday morning across southern Iowa. Then, expect the rain to spread of much of central Iowa during the day Sunday and continue into Sunday night. Finally, by Monday morning, the rain looks to taper off from west to east. Expect a decent soaker with forecast rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches along and south of Interstate 80. Gusty easterly winds will make for a cold and dreary day across the state Sunday. Turning dry and cool by Monday afternoon and into Tuesday before another low pressure system impacts the region by Wednesday into Thursday.
