The Pella swimmers with the NCMP Aquagirls of Newton fell just short of their goal of winning a 2nd conference title, placing second at the North Central Conference meet to Decorah.
Their 200 and 400 freestyle relays earned wins and moved up in the state rankings. The team of Alexa Heiar, Maggie Garrett, Lillie Ray, and Hannah Nedder won the 200 free relay and the team of Nedder, Peyton Ray, Lillie Ray, and Maylei Ruggles won the 400 free relay.
Nedder is now a double conference champ in the 100 fly, as is Heiar in the 100 breaststroke, both posting season best times Saturday. Ruggles also won the 100 backstroke and was the anchor for their 400 free relay.
The NCMP Aquagirls will next compete in the state qualifying meet at Ankeny on Saturday, November 6th.
