Rylee Dunkin had qualified for the class 1A Girls State Cross Country Meet for the third straight year. The Twin Cedars junior got to the class 1A State Meet by placing 2nd last Thursday at the Pekin State Qualifier. She tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that while cross country is not her favorite sport, she still works just as hard as any other sports she participates in.

Dunkin: “Even though cross country isn’t my favorite sport, I’m going to compete just the same, and it make me like it a little more when I cross the finish line. I’m really looking forward to getting up there, and competing against the best runners in the state.”

Dunkin has earned two All-State designations in her first two years with a 7th her freshman season in 2019…and a 10th last year.
