Knoxville Police Officers Cody Nichol and Brandon Hill have been recognized by the department for helping a boy in town who had his bicycle stolen. After receiving the report of the theft, the officers bought the boy a new bike with money out of their own pockets.

The department received a message from the boy’s mother, who thanked the officers for their kindness. She said her son was brought to tears by the gesture, and will take excellent care of his new bike.
