With Pleasantville’s football season ending, the Trojans fought through adversity to get back to the playoffs.
In Parker Sheets’ first year as a starter, he threw for 497 yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions. Pleasantville’s leading receiver was Blayton Niles, who caught ten passes for 139 yards in 2021. Niles also led the team in interceptions with three. In addition to his great hands, Niles also split kicking duties with Edwin Escalante, knocking in seven of eight extra points. The Trojans’ leading rusher was Dillon Ammons, who ran for 448 yards and seven scores. Caleb Cook led Pleasantville in tackles with 52. Trevor Daggett had 35 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss. Dayson Leerhoff led Pleasantville in sacks with 4.5.
Pleasantville finished the season with a 4-5 record and a 1st-round playoff matchup at Van Meter Friday night.
