The Eagles football team will be looking for a measure of revenge this Friday against the #5 ranked Dike-New Hartford Wolverines in the Second Round of the Class 1A Playoffs.
The two teams have met just once on the gridiron, at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls back in 2018. The Wolverines came out of the matchup with the 34-21 victory. Beyond the football field, the two schools met on the volleyball court just a week ago, with Dike-New Hartford sweeping the Eagles in the match. The Pella Christian football team will look to avoid the same fate Friday Night, and Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski likes his team’s chance of keeping their season alive.
“The 32 best teams in 1A went to the playoffs and now we’re down to 16, so there aren’t any bad teams left. You know, we’ve been in this situation before, so it’s not like we don’t know how to do that, I think we do know how to do that; and I think this team has a great spirit about it. So, I like our team. I think we’re as good as anybody that’s in 1A when we play our best football, so that’s going to be our focus.”
The Second Round Playoff matchup between the Eagles and Wolverines will kick off at 7 pm.
