A playoff berth is deemed a successful season for the Pleasantville football squad, despite going through their ups and downs throughout the season.
The Trojans started off the season with three non-district games and went 2-1 in those games. Pleasantville opened the season with a 13-7 victory over Lynnville-Sully. Week Two saw the Trojans suffer their first setback of the season at Interstate-35, losing 39-7. Pleasantville bounced back with a 21-14 victory over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. When district play, the Trojans got off to a very rough start. Pleasantville lost three straight games, including getting shut out by Sigourney-Keota 42-0. The Trojans also lost to Central Decatur and Pella Christian. The Trojans bounced back with a resounding 45-8 victory over Van Buren County. To get into the playoffs, Pleasantville edged out Cardinal at home with a 29-28 victory to end the season.
Pleasantville finished the season with a 4-5 overall record, a 2-3 record in district play, and a first round playoff loss to No. 1 in Class 1A Van Meter, 77-14.
