pleasantville-3

Pleasantville’s volleyball squad had a season full of ups and downs, and it unfortunately ended with a long losing streak.

The Trojans got off to a rough start with a 1-2 record in their first three games, all of which were against West Central Conference opponents. After bouncing back with a split triangular at Mount Ayr, Pleasantville went on a tear, winning seven of their next eight matches, including a six-match winning streak. During that stretch, Pleasantville went 2-1 in the Twin Cedars tournament, then won their first four matches of the North Mahaska tournament. The Trojans unfortunately followed up with a five-match losing streak, including getting swept in a home triangular. After getting swept by Van Meter, Pleasantville won five of their next six matches, including going 4-1 in their home tournament. However, Pleasantville ended their season with a ten-match losing streak, including going 0-5 in the Martensdale tournament.

The Trojans finished the season with a 14-20 record with a 3-7 West Central Conference record and a first-round playoff loss against Colfax-Mingo.
