Three Indianola School Board seats are up for election next week, with current members Ken Bresnan, Carolyn Langenwalter, and Laurie Abernathy not running for re-election. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News he is happy to see there are ten candidates running for the open seats, as that shows a big community interest in how the schools are run.
“It’s a great thing to have the amount of interest we have in the school board here in this community, especially when it’s not a single defining issue that people are running on. We have ten people on the ballot for three spots, so it’s great that we have that amount of interest. The school board, the administrative team, and superintendent team all need to work well together to have a good district.”
Sathoff also said he encourages everyone to vote in the election, whether on election day or early voting that is available now.
