Chad Bennett
Another change has been made regarding the upcoming trial of 50-year-old Chad Bennett of Pleasantville, who’s charged with sexual abuse of a minor. A hearing was held Thursday to consider Attorney Todd Miller’s motion to withdraw as counsel.
According to court documents, Miller was appointed to represent Bennett in July, but there has been a break-down in the relationship between the two, to the point that Miller can no longer represent Bennett. Bennett had filed a request for new counsel, alleging Miller provided ineffective assistance. Documents also said that Miller was no longer willing to continue to represent Bennett.
Erin Carr has been appointed as the new legal counsel to Bennett. The trial is scheduled to begin December 14th.
