Twin Cedars 7th-12th graders recently participated in the school’s “Wellness Wednesday” activities, with a focus this quarter on social wellness. Curriculum Director Kim Roby tells KNIA/KRLS News that the students focused on developing hobbies and discovering volunteer opportunities.
Before the volunteer activities, Marion County Deputy Isaac Short and his K-9 shared a message with the students about bullying and cyberbullying.
Students volunteered by helping out at Homestead Assisted Living, the Marion County Humane Society, The Well, and Helping Hands Knoxville. Roby says the students planned on raking leaves for elderly residents of Bussey, but read to elementary students instead due to rain.
