With PCM’s football squad having their season completed, the Mustangs had five victories on the season.
The Mustangs opened the season with a 30-14 victory over Davis County. Unfortunately, PCM followed up with three straight losses. Week Two saw the Mustangs lose on a missed field goal to the Newton Cardinals, 10-8. In Week Three, PCM lost to #7 in Class 1A Pella Christian at home, 21-7. Week Four was PCM’s first district game, and they were shut out 16-0 at Iowa Falls-Alden. PCM broke their skid with a dominating 50-6 victory over Albia on Homecoming Night. In Week Six, the Mustangs lost on Senior Night to No. 2 in Class 2A West Marshall 30-7. In the final two weeks of the season, the Mustangs knocked off Chariton 35-7 and beat Roland-Story 43-20 to finish the regular season 4-4.
PCM went down to Southwest Iowa for their first playoff game of the season against Clarinda and won a dogfight with the Cardinals 14-13. The Mustangs finished the season with a 5-5 record, a 3-2 record in Class 2A District 7 play, and lost to Williamsburg 35-0 in the second round.
