The remarkable tradition for success for the Pella Cross Country team continued at the 2021 state meet in Fort Dodge.

Friday’s 4th place finish for the Pella boys is Pella’s 13th top 6 performance in the past 15 seasons (2nd, 2nd, 1st, 6th, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 3rd, 3rd, 5th, non-qualifier, 5th, 10th, 4th, 4th).

Freshman Raegan Snieder had one the best individual finishes for the Pella girls since 2017 and then-freshman Caroline McMartin, who placed 9th and earned All-State honors. That came after four-consecutive All-State appearances for Tess Roorda, which included an individual championship in 2013. It’s the 8th All-State performance for the Dutch since 2007, and her time of 19:27.26 represents a new Freshman 5K record and the 2nd fastest time in school history.
