One area that the Indianola football team has been able to rely on this season has been depth at the skill positions on the offensive side of the ball. The Indians have had seven different players rush for a touchdown this season, with an additional seven catching a touchdown from either quarterback Bennett Brueck or Brady Blake. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports the Indians have gotten guys to step up in many areas.
“I think we’ve found some backups that have really given us some extra juice. Jaxon Morawski, Matt Edgington, just giving Kael (Kolarik) an opportunity to get a little rest on the sideline. Our wide receivers continue to make plays, our quarterback play has been great, and we continue to get better up front. And I think we are playing some really good defense right now, and that is what it is going to take.”
Indianola will match up with Lewis Central this Friday evening in the quarterfinal round, a rematch from week 4 of non-district play where the Indians defeated the Titans 14-9.
