Several emergency responders were on scene late Tuesday afternoon into the evening for a fully-engulfed farm structure on fire in rural Pella.

Just after 4:30 p.m., Pella and Marion County 911 Call Centers received details about what was described as a hog confinement billowing smoke on 210th Place north of Thunder Creek. No animals or people were inside at the time.

Pella Rural Fire, Pella Ambulance, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and Marion County Emergency Management were all at the property at one point. No major injuries were reported, but the structure was considered a total loss.
