Veterans Day is one week away, and the Knoxville American Legion post will display its parade of flags at Graceland Cemetery next week. American Legion member and veteran Curt Froyen says this is an opportunity to think about and honor the sacrifices that veterans and their families made.
“It’s kind of impossible to understand the sacrifices that are made. You take a number of years out of your life. You set your career goals aside to serve your country. The sacrifices are also made by the family members who are left behind when the deployments are made overseas. Veterans Day is a great way to recognize the sacrifices that have been made to help make this country the absolute greatest country on Earth.”
The flags will be raised beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9th, and will be taken down at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12th. The public is welcome to attend and volunteer.
