The annual Hillbilly Hike fundraiser and Greubel Memorial 5K are tomorrow, raising funds for the Thrive church Mission Team and college savings plans. Race Director Ryan Foust tells KNIA News the fundraiser features a half-marathon, a 10k, and a 5k, that will run on the Summerset Trail from Indianola to Carlisle, and the funds raised from the event will go towards mission trips for youth.

“We go and give the students a different experience that they have had here in Indianola. And realizing and helping to pour into their lives that they have an opportunity to be something different and they have an opportunity to make a difference in this world whether it’s in the inner city of Atlanta, an Indian Reservation in New Mexico, or in the hills of Kentucky. Those are all places that we have been.”

Foust also said the Greubel Memorial 5k was a race added in 2017, that assists local children who tragically lost their parents and will go towards their college education.
