With the new redistricting maps approved by the Iowa Legislature and set to go into effect for the 2022 election, State Senator Julian Garrett will still represent Indianola and Warren County, but will now also represent Knoxville and portions of Marion County rather than Madison County to the west. Senator Garrett tells KNIA News he is sad to see his longtime constituency in Madison County no longer be in his district, but representing Marion County is a huge positive.

“I feel very fortunate. I grew up in that area and I have friends in the Knoxville area. I will have to go over and get acquainted with more people and knock on doors to introduce myself. I think politically it will be a good area for myself and Representative Boden.”
