The Melcher-Dallas Football Squad finished with a 3-6 record this season. The Saints were 3-3 at one point but lost their last three games. Coach Pat Ferguson tells KNIA Sports three wins is not bad with the low numbers he had and injuries his team suffered.

Ferguson: “We had a lot of young guys playing so that’ll help for the future, but we had three seniors which will hurt. We had several guys in junior high that hopefully will boost the numbers so the future doesn’t look bad for us.”

The Saints lost three seniors none more important than Cole Metz, who had 737 total offensive yards for the Saints, which was 45% of the Saints offensive production. Melcher-Dallas will also graduate Anthony Schneider, and Scott Johnson. Ferguson adds that to grow the numbers he and the remaining players coming back next season needs to recruit through the hallways of Melcher-Dallas to get players to come out for football.
