The Simpson College Athletic Department announced several infrastructure upgrades to the various athletic complexes and fields on campus last week, in addition to adding men’s volleyball, men’s and women’s gymnastics, and women’s wrestling. Athletic Director Marty Bell tells KNIA News he wants Simpson to be a host venue for community events, for tournaments, for competitions, and a lot more, and these upgrades will benefit the entire area.

“It does not just help the college, it helps the entire community because it generates a revenue stream in that they could not garner any other way. Those visiting are going to eat in our restaurants, stay in our hotels, spend money in our stores, and that’s important to our community so this is really important not just for the college but for the entire Indianola community.”
