To highlight career opportunities in the manufacturing industry, the National Association of Manufacturers and The Manufacturing Institute brought the industry’s Creators Wanted campaign to Pella Tuesday.

Governor Kim Reynolds, Vermeer President Jason Andringa, Pella Corp CEO Tim Yaggi, President of the National Association of Manufacturers Jay Timmons, and Director of The Manufacturing Institute Carolyn Lee all spoke at the event hosted by Vermeer and co-sponsored by Pella Corporation. The purpose was to showcase how the experience aims to inspire job seekers, students, parents and teachers with the possibilities of careers in modern manufacturing. Timmons says it’s critical for communities and manufacturers to strengthen their relationships and develop a workforce to sustain the growth needs in the industry.

Career Academy of Pella Students were in attendance and participated in several hands-on activities through the Creators Wanted demonstrations and Vermeer and Pella Corp. In Iowa, there have been 23,485 manufacturing job postings year to date, with 2,804 in the past 30 days.
