The Indianola American Legion Post 165 held a Veterans Day Service at the IOOF Cemetery Thursday, including a flag raising ceremony, and a 21-gun salute.

Post Commander James Sullivan gave a speech to the crowd before the ceremony.

“We are here today to honor our heroes, to remember their achievements, their courage, their dedication, and to say thank you for their sacrifices. Thinking of the heroes who joined us today, and those who are only in spirit. A person can’t help but feel awed by the enormity of what we have encountered. We stand in the midst of patriots, and family and friends of those who have served.”

The Indianola HyVee also held a free breakfast both inside and drive-thru for all veterans and their families. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
