The Indianola girls swimming team begins their state meet competitions today, after qualifying four events.

Individually, Jorja Culver will swim in the 200 Freestyle at state after qualifying with a time of 2:01:30, and Olivia Bacon qualified in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 25.22.

Senior Ali Borgmeyer tells KNIA News she is sure the team will give it their all today, and no matter what she is proud of what they have accomplished.

“This is my last high school swim meet ever, so I’m just trying to focus on having fun. I want to swim as fast as I can, but at the end of the day I’m just going to be excited for whatever our team gets and we’ve worked really hard so good things will come.”

The preliminary meet begins at 5pm tonight at the Marshalltown YMCA, with the finals beginning at noon tomorrow.
