Norwalk senior girls soccer player Serenity Madonia signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her career at Wartburg College last week. She says she originally wasn’t planning to continue her athletic career in college, but seeing the program at Wartburg changed that.
“I actually didn’t want to play in college until I met the coach and I met some of my previous Norwalk soccer teammates that were going to Wartburg. So I visited and I really loved the campus, I liked how small it is compared to bigger colleges. I really love the classroom feel, I love the coaches and my teammates on that team. I’m really happy with my decision because Wartburg is a great college for athletics, academics, and faith.”
Madonia has appeared in all 36 games of her high school career, and started 35, and was a member of last year’s state semifinalist team. She was one of 11 Norwalk student-athletes to sign their letters of intent last week. Madonia will appear on this week’s KNIA/KRLS Radio Sports Page, which airs Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. on KNIA/KRLS.
