Results from a narrow victory in the Pella Ward 3 City Council race were confirmed following a recount today by the Marion County Auditor’s Office. In Pella Ward 3, the results posted on election night were upheld, and Spencer Carlstone won election against incumbent Bruce Schiebout. The final vote margin was 499 to 497, with no changes to the total during the recount.

Carlstone, Mark DeJong — who had his victory confirmed on Monday, and Lynn Branderhorst will all start their next term in office on January 1st. Bruce Schiebout remains on the council until the end of December.
