The Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Program is staying within the McWilliams Family. Brad McWilliams has taken over for son Blake, who is now a teacher and assistant for the Panthers Boys Squad this year. Brad tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Sabers were without a coach until late this fall and he took the job because he felt a connection to the team after serving as assistant for the past two seasons.
McWilliams: “That’s why I did this, they’re good kids and they were going to be without a coach at all, so I guess I am a little bit better than nothing, I guess.”
McWilliams will have to do some rebuilding to the Sabers program after graduation took its toll with the graduation of three seniors, two of which were major contributors to the team. He does return Devin Arkema, who was the Sabers leading scorer at 15.7 points per game, and Dallas Clark, who scored 5.3 points per game. Twin Cedars get the season underway November 30th with a home game against Wayne.
