An Oskaloosa man has been arrested following an incident Monday. Shortly after midnight Monday morning, Marion County deputies received a report of a suspicious vehicle that had entered a driveway in the 800 block of County Highway T15. Deputies found the vehicle and identified the driver as 33-year-old James Ryan See.
As deputies were walking around the vehicle, they noticed a syringe commonly used for narcotic usage in the center console, and conducted a probable cause search on the basis that the syringe was in plain sight. During the search, the officers located a knife in a case with a blade measuring 5 ¾ inches long. The deputy had dispatch perform a criminal history check, and discovered that See was a previously convicted felon. They also found various drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
See was arrested and released without bond. A preliminary hearing will be held today. He faces charges of felon in control of a firearm, a Class D felony, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, operating without a valid driver’s license, and operating a non-registered vehicle.
