The Central wrestling team hosted its home and conference opener Thursday, falling to #4 Coe 30-7.

The dual began with 10th-ranked Shandon Akeo of the Dutch picking up a major decision at 125, but that would be Central’s only lead of the night. 149-pounder Rob Areyano was the only other victorious Dutch wrestler, picking up a decision win. Coe closed the meet with six straight wins.

Central moves to 0-1 overall and in the conference. They’ll be in action Saturday in split-squad fashion at the Augsburg Invitational and the Scotty Wood Duals.
