The 2021-22 winter sports season is officially here and the Pella girls basketball team is kicking off the action at home against Mount Pleasant.

New Head Coach Blaine Forysthe opens his first competition at the helm of the program against a Panthers program the Dutch have had historic success against, owning the all-time series 9-1. Forsythe believes an improving Mt. Pleasant team will be a great way to open the season.

“I know they’ve played a lot of 2-3 zone in the past, so we need to just be ready for a couple of different things and all teams are going to look a little bit different as they start to get different players in,” Forysthe says. “We really want to be coming out of the gates and playing our style, focusing on us and doing the things that we do well and hopefully starting the season off on the right note.”
