The Indianola City Council approved a development agreement with CemenTech at their most recent meeting, using Tax Increment Financing (TIF) to help fund their new expansion of over $1 million. Former City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the development agreement has a new jobs requirement in place, and helps a growing business continue to bring jobs and opportunities to Indianola.
“An added benefit to our community is our tax base expands. It allows them to do a lot more work which makes them more successful, and there is also a job requirement. They’ve added over 100 jobs over the last 10 years, and they anticipate adding quite a few more with the expansion. A great positive for a business that really is the fabric of Indianola, but it’s also great for our community overall.”
Waller also said this development agreement has been several years in the making, and is a great example of how city staff works with local businesses to help everyone thrive.
